• For the cookies

• 2 boxes Devil’s Food Cake Mix

• 1 1/2 cups shortening (I use butter Crisco)

• 4 eggs

• For the filling/frosting

• 1 cup unsalted butter

• 1 lb powdered sugar

• 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream

• 1 tbsp vanilla

• 1/2 tsp salt
